Sonardyne Receives SPRINT Order From Saipem
Sonardyne International Ltd. has received an order valued at over £2.1 million from international oil and gas turnkey contractor Saipem. The order includes six SPRINT systems and associated acoustic positioning equipment, making it Sonardyne’s largest sale of acoustically aided inertial navigation technology to date. SPRINT (Subsea Precision Reference Inertial Navigation Technology) will be deployed in April in the West Delta Deep Marine concession (WDDM).
Bibby Offshore Announces Singapore Charter Agreement
Subsea installation contractor Bibby Offshore has announced a three-year bareboat charter agreement with Solstad Offshore Asia Pacific Ltd. for the NOR Spring, a DP2 (Dynamic Positioning) Anchor Handling Support Vessel (AHSV). The deal has been struck by Bibby Offshore’s Singapore operation, Bibby Offshore Singapore Pte Ltd. The NOR Spring represents a multi-million dollar investment by Bibby Offshore and becomes the fifth vessel in the fleet.

Container Ship 'Rena' Wreck Update
Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) has charged the owner of the cargo vessel Rena, following the ship's grounding on Astrolabe Reef off Tauranga on 5 October. An over flight by MNZ noted damage to the forward section bulkhead between No 2 and No 3 hold. It was evident that the bulkhead on the port side had failed and was open to the sea. This is expected given the gradual deterioration of the wreck and its exposure to the elements. Debris from Rena has washed ashore at Tairua, in the Coromandel.
