Comark Receives ABS Type Approval
Comark Corporation, a leader in the design and manufacture of ruggedized computer solutions for the marine, military, and commercial markets, has received Type Approval on their 47ā Series of MDU Marine Displays from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Type Approval is given to products for marine and offshore applications that are designed and tested, and can be consistently manufactured, to meet IEC 60945 Standards for Maritime Navigation and Radio Communication Equipment and Systems.

UK P&I Club Elects New Board
Seven directors were elected to the Board of the UK P&I Club at its AGM in Athens on the 27th October. After obtaining a postgraduate degree in industrial engineering, Ibrahim Güngen founded Güngen Foreign Trade Co Ltd with his brother Mehmet in 1976 and the business quickly became the biggest importer of molasses in Turkey. Mr Güngen has been chief executive officer of Güngen Maritime and Trading since 1990.

Incat Crowther Launches 27.6m Catamaran Crewboat
Incat Crowther has announced the launch of a second 27.6m Wave Piercing Catamaran Crew Boat, Topaz Zephyr. Based on the innovative Topaz Zenith, launched in June, Topaz Zephyr has been optimized to provide 24-hour support to offshore oil and gas operations. The vessel differs from the earlier design by having a full width superstructure allowing greater accommodation space. Together with increased fuel capacity, this allows the vessel to operate uninterrupted over a 24 hour service pattern.
