To stop oil from leaking from the stern tube seal assembly of a general cargo vessel, a Hydrex diver-technician team was mobilized to perform permanent repairs on the vessel during its scheduled stop in Gulfport in the state of Mississippi, U.S.A., last month. Gunnar H. Hide has been appointed as the new managing director of Ulstein Power & Control. Hide has a background from the maritime industry and has among others, worked as a manager in Acel, ABB, Stadt Automation, and IKM Group. Hide said that had his first job with Ulstein in 1980, at Ulstein Smevik in Herøy, where he was for three years and took his mechanical certificate. Hide is a graduate mechanical engineer from Horten Engineering School.
