MAN Diesel to Feature High-Speed Engines
MAN Nutzfahrzeuge will transfer part of its business involving high-speed engines to the group’s sister company, MAN Diesel. With effect from 1 January 2010, these activities will be integrated into MAN Diesel to form a Business Unit High Speed. The new Business Unit will offer diesel and gas engines in a performance range from 70 to 1,400 kW used in yachts, smaller working ships, locomotives and in decentralised energy supplies, for instance as emergency gensets.

New Cruise Ship 3 Months Ahead of Schedule
The brand new American Cruise Lines ship, Independence, being built at Chesapeake Shipbuilding, was taken on its first underway trials yesterday. This important milestone trial occurred three months ahead of schedule. Maneuvering and equipment tests were performed successfully while the ship was underway in the Wicomico River. Coronado (LCS 4) Keel Laying
Austal hosted an abbreviated U.S. Navy keel-laying ceremony for its second Littoral Combat Ship, Coronado (LCS 4). Fabrication has started on twelve of the twenty-eight modules that will make up this 416.6 ft trimaran design. Six of the twenty-eight modules are currently being outfitted with ships equipment such as gas turbines, generators, and propulsion equipment, and electrical, piping and ventilation systems.
