Schat-Harding 370-Person Lifeboats to Cruise Ship
Lifeboat and davit manufacturer Schat-Harding has delivered the world’s largest lifeboats, complete with unique davit systems, to the Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas. The Oasis of the Seas is equipped with eighteen of Schat-Harding’s unique, 370-person CRV55 lifeboats and LS45 davit systems. The CRV55 has a catamaran hull, which provides excellent sea-keeping capability and maneuverability. The LS45 davit, meanwhile, is a completely new integrated system for cruise vessels.

Cummins Power for Amazon Tug
The Cummins distributor in Manaus Brazil has recently performed sea trials on a new 3,200 hp harbour tug prior to delivery to the owner J. F. Oliveira Navegation Ltda. The Jos Guilherme IV was built by the Estaleiro Rio Negro Ltda at Manaus on the Amazon River. The 82 by 32.8 ft boat has a molded depth of 17 ft and a 9 ft design draft. Powered by a pair of Cummins KTA50-M main engines, each developing 1,600 hp at 1,800 rpm the boat has a 40-ton bollard pull and a 13.1-Knot free running speed.
Coastal Properties Managing Diamond Teague

Kvichak Marine Industries and Nichols Brothers Boat Builders recently delivered the third of four high-speed, environmentally friendly ferries to the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) located in San Francisco. The M/V Scorpio is a 118-ft by 28.7-ft by six-ft high speed catamaran with a cruise speed of 25 knots at 85% of engine MCR.
