Damen Delivers Stan Patrol Vessel to RBDF
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) has taken delivery of the fourth and final Stan Patrol 4207, named HMBS Rolly Gray. The four Stan Patrol 4207s form part of the six-year Sandy Bottom project. The Stan Patrol 4207s carry a 24-person crew, have a range in excess of 2000 nm and can achieve speeds of 20 knots. As well as their weapons systems each carries two RHIBS for fast interception and boarding.
Boat of the Month: Moore Shallow Shuttle 23
Moore Boat LLC recently delivered the first of three all new aluminum Moore Shallow Shuttle 23 RIB’s to Seacrets, Jamaica USA after the vessel’s successful completion of various sea trials and the U.S. Coast Guard’s final simplified stability test. Designed in house with the assistance of CDI Marine’s Band Lavis Division, the Shallow Shuttle is a unique water taxi with a Coast Guard small passenger (subchapter T) approved capacity of fourteen (twelve passengers, Captain and one Mate).
Sen. Paul Proposes New Harbor Dredging Criteria
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) reintroduced the Harbor Equity Act on Monday, his office announced. This legislation modifies the existing criteria used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to dredge small harbors. Currently, the Corps' prioritizes dredging solely for larger harbors that see 1 million or more tons in traffic per year - often forcing small community harbors to fund their own dredging or be forced to shut down operations.

SC Ports Report Cargo Volume Growth
February marked the second consecutive month of 18 percent container growth at the SC Ports Authority, bringing fiscal year container volumes totals to 1.23 million twenty-foot equivalent units, or TEUs. Last month Charleston handled 152,925 TEUs, a significant increase from 129,747 handled during the same month last year. Since the fiscal year began in July, the port's TEU volume is 14.3 percent higher than the same period last fiscal year.

Dredging Project to Protect Virginia Shoreline
The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and Naval Air Station Oceana at Dam Neck, Virginia, expect to begin a shore protection project at the Dam Neck annex within the next month. Sand from the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), to be used for this project, will enhance coastal resilience by protecting shoreline infrastructure. In addition, the project will restore shorebird and sea turtle nesting habitat and improve the recreational beach in this Virginia Beach community.
