CMIT Welcomes First 14,000 TEU Box Ship
On October 29, 2015 Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIT) received the maiden call of the 14,000 TEU m/v CSCL Star, the ultra large container vessel (ULCV) of 157,000 DWT, deployed in the Ocean 3 Alliance, marking the first Vietnam/Northern Europe direct service. US Navy to Send Destroyer Near Chinese Islands
The U.S. Navy plans to send the USS Lassen destroyer within 12 nautical miles of artificial islands built by China in the South China Sea within 24 hours, the first of more regular challenges to China's territorial claims, a U.S. defense official said on Monday. Kooiman to Build Workboat for HvSDS
Shipyard Kooiman BV in Zwijndrecht has been contracted to supply a new multipurpose DP2 support vessel to customer HvS Dredging Support BV in Harlingen, the shipbuilder announced. According to Kooiman, close cooperation with HvSDS has led to “a number of important creative solutions” for development and implementation aboard the new vessel, Zwerver II. The ship is equipped with DP2, four-point mooring, crane of 510 Tm with an active heave compensated winch, a conventional crane of 370 Tm.
