Boskalis is Exploring Biofuels

Dutch dredging and offshore contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. said it will run its vessels on a biofuel blend while working on a project to install the export cable to the Borssele offshore wind farm.The Borssele Alpha project is being executed on behalf of TenneT and is aimed at connecting the Borssele offshore grid with the Dutch high-voltage grid.During this project, Boskalis will run its vessels on a biofuel blend of up to 30 percent.
Royal IHC to Build Four New Vessels for DEME

The Netherlands based Royal IHC said it has secured a contract from Belgium-based DEME for the design and build of four new vessels.The order consists of a copy of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered 8,400m3 trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Scheldt River delivered in 2017, as well as a 2,300m3 TSHD and two 3,500m3 split barges.The compact design of the 2,300m3 TSHD is characterized by a small draught and can be deployed for projects in shallow water worldwide…
Two New Workboats for Dutch Dredging

Dredging contractor Dutch Dredging welcomed two new vessels to its fleet last week during a naming ceremony in Cayenne, French Guiana.The new vessels, Papillon and Fregate, were delivered to Boer Remorquage SARL, a joint venture involving Dutch Dredging and Iskes Towage & Salvage. The newcomers will go to work in the ports of Cayenne and Kourou in French Guiana.The investment is a response to the 12-year contract that the consortium signed in 2016 with the Grand Port Maritime de Guyane.
