Bestobell Valves, part of the President Engineering Group, announced a new contract which brings the total of orders for its innovative patented Float Level Insulation Valves (FLIV) across the world to over 100. The new contract for FLIV is with Bestobell’s Chinese partner, Valseal International Ltd. on behalf of Hudong Shipyard in Shanghai, China. The order is for the six China Shipping and Mitsui O.S.K Lines LNG carriers that will be built there.

A strong continuation in the recovery of LNG expenditure is underway worldwide, driven by a growing demand for natural gas. The new eighth edition of Douglas-Westwood’s (DW) World LNG Market Forecast expects that global capital expenditure (Capex) will total nearly $228B during the 2013-2017 period. The surge includes capital expenditure on base-load onshore and offshore fixed LNG liquefaction, LNG carriers and LNG regasification, via both onshore and offshore fixed import terminals.
Qatargas Signs 5-year UK LNG Supply Contract

Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited (Qatargas) and Petronas LNG (UK) Limited have signed a 5-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for shipment of an annual LNG volume of 1.14 million tones, to the UK, effective January 2014. The LNG will be supplied from Qatargas 4 (Train 7), a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Shell which started production in January 2011, and will be delivered on board Q-Flex LNG Vessels to Petronas’ Dragon LNG Terminal located in Milford Haven, United Kingdom.

First U.S. LNG- PSV with Unique Nitrogen Membrane Generator

Norwegian-based Air Products has been selected by Harvey Gulf International Marine to supply Nitrogen Membrane Generators for the six newly ordered LNG fuelled Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) to be built at Trinity Offshore Shipyard, Gulfport, MS. The NC 1.1 series cabinet model consists of a complete N2 Generator, a control panel and a feed air pre-treatment with a PLC control. The Nitrogen Membrane System is approved by all international marine standards.
