TEN Extends Charters for Three Product Tankers

Crude, product and LNG tanker operator Tsakos Energy Navigation Ltd. (TEN) announced the charter extension for three product tankers, including two Panamaxes and one MR, for two and three years respectively to a South American oil major. These contracts are expected to generate $40 million in total gross revenues over their relevant duration. “These three accretive fixtures following those announced in August, expand our contracted revenues and solidify our profitability.

Scrapping a decades-old ban on U.S. crude oil exports would spur job creation and boost energy security by encouraging new investment that lifts production, Exxon Mobil Corp's chief executive said on Thursday. Chief Executive Officer Rex Tillerson, speaking to a business group, said trade restrictions should also be lifted for exports of liquefied natural gas, or LNG, which are subject to lengthy regulatory reviews.

On July 31, 2013, ARC Towage signed four contracts at the Netherlands shipbuilder Damen Shipyards Group. The newbuilding contracts with ARC Towage are the result of a special joint venture set-up for the terminal berthing services for a significant energy industry player in Trinidad and Tobago. The first Damen ASD 2810, MV Kairi, left for Trinidad, while the second vessel will leave in two weeks. The last two tugs will arrive mid-December this year.

(MOL) announced that a naming ceremony for the LNG Venus, a newbuilding liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, was held at the Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI).
