International oilfield services company, Reservoir Group, has announced the acquisition of Mudlogging Services Inc (MSI), the US-based developer and supplier of the MLogger series of gas detection systems. Founded in 2001, MSI is headquartered in Grand Junction, Colorado. From this base, the company leases its specialised systems and software to a number of major operators and independent oil and gas companies across the US and worldwide, including Mexico, Africa and Eastern Europe.

Statoil Stakes Claim Offshore Suriname
Statoil has acquired a 30% participating interest in block 47 offshore Suriname from Tullow Oil. Tullow Oil operates the block 47 licence offshore Suriname with 100% working interest. Tullow will retain the operatorship and 70% working interest. The agreement is subject to approval from Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname, the state oil company of Suriname. Block 47 lies in a frontier area in the Guyana Basin.

SeaHold GEOSHIPS Adds Two New Offshore Vessels
SeaHold GEOSHIPS expanded its fleet of multi-purpose offshore vessels. The two new vessels ‘Loch Erisort’ and ‘Loch Roag’ brings the Aberdeen-based firm’s fleet up to three, while also signifying a $140m in additional financial commitment. The new vessels, which are both of Vik & Sandvik VS470 design will be delivered in Quarter 1 2012 and Quarter 4 2012 respectively and are actively being promoted to the Oil and Gas market for long-term work.
MAN & Maersk: Innovative Diesel Engine Partnership
MAN Diesel & Turbo announced the first order for its second generation EGR system, to be applied aboard a Maersk Line container vessel – the 4,500-teu new building #2358. The system will be fully integrated with the vessel’s main engine, a two-stroke MAN B&W 6S80ME-C9 type to be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries’ engine & machinery division.
