Drydocks World and Maritime World announced the launch of Dubai Maritime Green Initiative, a movement to encourage all-round environmental excellence in maritime and allied sectors including oil, gas and energy. Lukoil Marine Lubricants increases turnover to $200 million
Specializing in lubricants for the maritime industry, Lukoil Marine Lubricants Ltd. increased its sales revenue in the past financial year 2012 by 74% to around $200 million. This result was announced by Lukoil Marine Lubricants’ CEO Victor Zhuravskiy in Hamburg. Founded in 2008, Lukoil Marine Lubricants is a subsidiary of the Russian oil company Lukoil. The company’s recent performance marks a continuation of its headlong growth.

IMO Pledge to Support African Piracy Code
The organisation will help implement the West and Central Africa piracy code adopted at a recent ministerial meeting. IMO has pledged its support to assist in the implementation of a new Code of Conduct concerning the prevention and repression of piracy, armed robbery against ships and illicit maritime activity in west and central Africa, which has been adopted at a Ministerial meeting in Cotonou, Benin.

Expro Awarded Subsea Services Contract in China
International oilfield service company, Expro, has been awarded a $4.5 (£2.9) million one year contract for the supply of 7 3/8” completion landing string services in China. Work will commence this month, and as part of the contract, Expro will supply a 7 3/8” 10k direct hydraulic (DH) completion landing string system and a set of topside and DH controls. This will be the latest DH operation in China following previous successful campaigns on other horizontal tree developments.

New Brazilian Warship Departs the U.K.
The latest addition to the Brazilian Navy’s fleet departed the UK in the snow for her new home in Rio de Janeiro where she will strengthen Brazil’s maritime security. Apa is the second of three Amazonas Class Ocean Patrol Vessels being delivered to the Brazilian Navy by BAE Systems.
