What’s New in Floating Production?
What’s New in October 2014? Today 324 oil/gas floating production units are now in service, on order or available for reuse on another field. FPSOs account for 65% of the existing systems, 78% of systems on order. Production semis, barges, spars and TLPs comprise the balance. The oil/gas production floater inventory is the same as last month. There were no orders for additional production systems in September. Another 30 floating LNG processing systems are in service or on order.

Speedcast Secures Deal with AMPTC
SpeedCast International Limited announced that it has been awarded a multiyear contract from Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Company (AMPTC), a provider of maritime transport services of hydrocarbon substances in the Middle East region. SpeedCast will provide satellite network connectivity for AMPTC’s entire fleet of vessels. SpeedCast will provide each AMPTC vessel with end-to-end VSAT services that enable corporate networking, Internet access, voice communications, and crew welfare services.
Ebola Safety Video Launched for Mariners
KVH Industries, Inc. is offering Videotel's new video about Ebola safety free to all mariners worldwide in an effort to increase awareness of the prevention measures that can help keep seafarers safe. KVH has created a website, www.kvh.com/EbolaSafety, for mariners to download the free video and an accompanying workbook. In addition, KVH delivered the video program to its IP-MobileCast customers on vessels across the globe, who will automatically receive the video for immediate viewing onboard.

High Daily Rates Boost Bourbon Q3 Revenue
Bourbon announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2014, in which its saw revenues increase by 5.7% year on year as fleet growth and higher average daily rates were partially offset by lower utilization rates.
