Promar Christens First of Two Damen PSVs
Promar Shipping Services has christened the first of two Damen PSV 3300 vessels built at Damen Shipyards Galaţi in Romania. The Mamola Reliance will operate on the West African oil and gas market. Following the official handover on February 23, the Mamola Reliance set sail for West Africa. En route she stopped off in Barcelona for her naming ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Promar’s CEO, Bertrand Prezioso, CFO, Olivier Utz and COO, Christophe Mansuy.

Panama Accredits Maritime Security Firm
The Panama Maritime Authority has accredited ESC Global Security personnel to offer protection aboard Panamanian-registered vessels, in what is thought to mark the first Private Maritime Security Companies (PMSC) licence issued under the new Panama Administration. During December 2014, a new set of rules including a new licence fee for PMSCs was introduced whereby failure to comply would result in the revocation or suspension of a security company’s operating licence.

Maersk Drilling Secures Contract for Newest Drillship
Maersk Drilling was awarded a contract from eni Ghana Exploration and Production Ltd. for employment of the newbuild drillship Maersk Voyager. The contract will see Maersk Voyager work on the Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) Project offshore Ghana with expected commencement in July 2015. The firm contract period is 3.5 years with an option to extend by one year, and the total estimated revenue from the firm contract is $545 million including mobilization and escalations. Claus V.

The overall number of orders is similar to the average ordering pace over the past 10 years, during which an average of roughly 25 production and storage floaters were ordered annually. But the ordering pace by type unit is quite different. FPSO orders in 2014 were 25% below the 13.5 average ordering pace over the past ten years – and in 2014 no orders were placed for Spars, TLPs or Production Semis, which between 2004 and 2013 averaged 3.5 orders per year.
