Subsea 7 Charters Out Three Newbuild PLSV's
Norway's Subsea 7 S.A. awarded 3 contracts from Petrobras with a combined value (at the time of contract signature) of approximately US$1.6 billion for the construction & operation of three new-build flexible pipe-lay support vessels (PLSVs). The work scope of each of these 5 year contracts is similar to that of the PLSVs which Subsea 7 currently operates offshore Brazil, comprising project management, engineering and installation of flowlines, umbilicals and equipment supplied by Petrobras.
Subsea 7 Wins GofM Pemex Contract
Subsea 7 S.A. announce a contract award by Pemex to its Mexican joint venture valued at approximately US$90-million. The contract comprises the engineering, fabrication and installation of an 8km pipeline, related risers, two slug catchers (a slug catcher is a storage vessel used to separate oil, water and gases and regulate flow within a pipeline) and two cantilever structures for the Line 67 Project in the Bay of Campeche. This is the second contract awarded to the joint venture.
Subsea 7 Orders Heavy Construction Vessel
Subsea 7 S.A. has contracted Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to build the new ship. She will be deployed globally to meet increasing market demands for executing ever- larger and more complex projects. She will have 2,600m2 deck area (for equipment carriage), a 600t Active Heave Compensated offshore crane, a 325t top tension vertical lay system and a 7,000t under-deck basket for storage of flexible pipes, umbilicals and cables.
IHC Merwede Launches Subsea 7 Vessel
IHC Merwede has successfully launched Subsea 7'ss 550t pipelaying vessel, Seven Waves, at its shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands. The naming ceremony was carried out by Mrs Lucia Andrade, the ship’s God Mother and Subsea 7 Brazil’s Vice President Projects & Operations. Wärtsilä Wins Subsea 7 DSV Design Deal
Wärtsilä signed a contract for the design of a new diving support vessel (DSV) to be built for Subsea 7. The new VS 4725 DSV design was created by Wärtsilä Ship Design specifically for this vessel, which will be built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard in Korea. The contract was signed with HHI in December, and the vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2015. The vessel is intended for North Sea diving operations on a year round basis.
