Video: Subsea 7 Reel Lay Vessel Transported
Subsea 7's newbuild reel lay vessel Seven Vega has been transported from Royal IHC's shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel to Rotterdam Heijplaat through the beautiful scenery of Rotterdam.Launched in May 2019, Seven Vega is a high-specification vessel capable of installing complex rigid flowlines including pipe-in-pipe systems. Seven Vega has an overall length of 149 meters, a breadth of 33 meters and a Class 3 dynamic positioning system.
DNV GL, Kongsberg and Subsea 7 Finish Remote DP Pilot
Partners DNV GL, Kongsberg Maritime and Subsea 7 have concluded the pilot testing of Kongsberg Maritime’s (KM) DP Digital Survey (KMDS) application on board the Subsea 7 vessel Seven Kestrel.The pilot tested the use of a remote digital verification tool for testing dynamic positioning (DP) systems as part of classification society DNV GL’s D-Class project.In March 2019, DNV GL rolled out the first fleet-wide remote survey scheme for some inspections in the classification industry.

Oslo-listed oil services firm Subsea 7's Chief Financial Officer Ricardo Rosa told an energy conference in Oslo he sees gradual market recovery as oil prices stabilize, and the outlook for subsea project awards increasing within the next 12 months. "Previously all the discussions (with oil companies) were about cutting costs, now we are starting to talk about launching new projects... We have a measured optimism," Rosa said.
