Subsea 7 Awarded Cherries Prize

Subsea 7 wins award for its Engineering Conversion Programme & Graduate Engineering Development Scheme (GEDS} at Cherries ceremony

Subsea 7 has won the Tremendous Training and Development Award at this year’s Cherries ceremony in recognition of its innovative Engineering Conversion Programme and highly successful Graduate Engineering Development Scheme (GEDS).

The award, which recognises excellence in the field of human resources, was presented to Subsea 7 at an awards ceremony attended by hundreds of leading HR professionals in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Subsea 7, a provider of seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services to the offshore energy industry, recruits around 100 engineering graduates each year for GEDS. For the last seven years it has also been recruiting engineers from across different industrial sectors, including automotive, defence and aerospace for its Engineering Conversion Programme.

Keith Tipson, Subsea 7’s Executive Vice President for Human Resources, said: “Subsea 7’s winning GEDS offers individuals the opportunity to develop first class skills, encouraging new ideas and to be the best in the industry.”
 
He went on: “We launched our Engineering Conversion Programme to combat the acute shortage of engineers within the oil and gas industry. By recruiting skilled engineers with transferable capabilities from other sectors and by putting them through an intensive training programme, we have a very effective method of bringing new talent into our industry.”
