Kongsberg Maritime Delivers Space-based AIS
On July 8 2015, ESA authorized the delivery of KONGSBERGās fourth generation SAT-AIS Receiver flight models, to the Norwegian Space Center; for integration into the NORSAT-1 satellite. With this delivery, KONGSBERG further strengthens its position as a supplier of space-based infrastructure in the maritime domain. NORSAT-1 is scheduled for launch in Q1 2016 and will be Norwayās fourth AIS capable satellite to embed an AIS Receiver from Kongsberg Seatex AS.
Swedish Patrol Boats Refit with Kongsberg Sonar
As part of a rebuild and lifetime extension program for five Swedish Navy patrol boats, Swede Ship Marine will install new Kongsberg Maritime sonar systems to replace the previous model SIMRAD SS576 sonar first installed in 1996 on board the Tapper-class (or Bevakningsbåt 80). At 22 meters in length and a displacement of 62 tons, the Tapper-class Fast Patrol Boats operate in extremely shallow water and require sonar capable of high performance in such environments.
DNV-GL Approves Kongsberg Engine Room Simulators
Kongsberg Maritime has received DNV-GL certification for three of its latest engine room simulator models designed to provide in-depth training on the K-Sim Engine simulator platform. The DNV GL-ST-033:2014-08 Maritime Simulator Systems certification, which is based on the on the requirements of STCW Convention, Regulation I/12, was given to the DE88 Oil Rig, DE66 Drill Ship and M42 AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug & Supply) K-Sim Engine models in June 2015.

The vessels are owned by Vahana Offshore Pte Ltd in Singapore. The contracts were awarded by builder Eversendai Offshore RMC FZE (Shipyard) in RAK Maritime City, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
