IHC Merwede Changes to Royal IHC
His Majesty the King has awarded the honorary title of Koninklijk (Royal) to IHC Merwede. In a special ceremony today, the Mayor of Sliedrecht, Mr van Hemmen, presented this accolade to IHC Merwede’s CEO, Bram Roelse. In light of this honour, the company has decided to change its name to Royal IHC and will also include the royal crown in its revised corporate identity. The Royal title is an award granted to companies or organisations that meet certain conditions.

IHC Merwede Secures TSHD Order from TNPA

IHC Merwede Reveals Healthy Orderbook
IHC Merwede successfully increased its orderbook in 2013 across the main sectors of its business: offshore and dredging. The company received almost € 1.8 billion worth of new orders in the past year. At the end of 2013, the order book was valued at over € 1.7 billion, which is the equivalent of a backlog of approximately two years. IHC Merwede develops and builds innovative vessels, advanced equipment and life-cycle support services for the dredging, mining and offshore industries.
IHC Merwede Appoints Bram Roelse as CEO
IHC Merwede announced that it has appointed Bram Roelse as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with immediate effect as of April 1, 2014. He has taken over this leading role within the company from predecessor Dirk Philips who stepped back in November 2013. Roelse has worked at IHC Merwede for the past 13 years. He was originally appointed as the Managing Director of the company’s business unit IHC Systems.

IHC Merwede Orders MacGregor Subsea Cranes
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won an order worth around €23 million for six active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea cranes from the Dutch IHC Merwede. IHC Merwede President Appointed SEA Europe Chairman
The European Ships and Maritime Equipment Association (SEA Europe) has announced that IHC Merwede’s President, Govert Hamers, will succeed Lars Gørvell-Dahll as Chairman in October 2013. Mr. Gørvell-Dahll’s will step down midway through his tenure to become the Managing Director of the maritime arm of the Federation of Norwegian Industries. SEA Europe was jointly founded in Brussels last year by European shipbuilders, ship repairers and maritime suppliers.
IHC Merwede Secures New Orders
IHC Merwede announced that it has recently secured orders to the value of €125 million for a wide range of new cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) and related equipment. The latest sales agreements confirmed by the company include a new custom-built CSD and a further 12 units that will be supplied by IHC Beaver Dredgers. The contract for the custom-built CSD has been entrusted to IHC Merwede by Huta Marine Works for the design, engineering and construction of an innovative self-propelled vessel.
IHC Merwede Delivers Dredger to Shanghai
IHC Merwede has delivered the dredger 'CHANG JIANG KOU 02' to Yangtze Estuary Waterway Administration Bureau (YEWAB) in Shanghai. IHC Merwede’s contract with YEWAB included the design, construction and delivery of two identical vessels: the CHANG JIANG KOU 02, built in conjunction with the company’s Chinese partner’s yard; and her sister vessel, the CHANG JIANG KOU 01, which was delivered in May last year.
