BMT Acquires OBEG Fire Investigators
BMT announced it has acquired OBEG, a fire investigation group based in the Netherlands.OBEG was founded and built by Erik Overtoom who has over 25 yearsâ experience in forensic fire investigation of public property, industrial and marine fires. Overtoom is also head of the Dutch chapter of the U.S.â IAAI (International Association of Arson Investigators), and head lecturer at the Dutch Fire Academy.TheâŚ
DALO Chooses SARIS to Support SAR Operations
The Danish Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) announced the purchase of a major upgrade of BMTâs SARIS, the search and rescue planning tool that helps save lives, plan searches and minimize danger at sea. The upgrade will consist of a deployment of 20 licenses primarily to Denmark but also including Greenland and the Faroe Islands. A large part of the upgrade will include capacity for ongoing in-house training, with initial training being delivered by BMT.

BMT and MSI in Joint Alexandroupolis FSRU Terminal Project Award
BMT and Metocean Services International (MSI) have been jointly awarded a contract by Gastrade to deploy an Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and develop metocean criteria to be utilized for the design of the offshore moored FSRU and the subsea pipeline to shore. The Alexandroupolis FSRU will be located offshore Greece in the northern Aegean Sea in approximately 40m water depth and will connect to shore via a 24km subsea pipeline.

BMT Bags Contracts from Samsung Heavy Industries
BMT Groupâs fleet and vessel performance management company BMT SMART said it has secured a contract with shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) to supply vessel performance monitoring systems for four very large crude carriers (VLCC) being built for a Greek ship owner. This latest contract comes on the back of current orders already received from SHI for seven vessels (Suezmax and Aframax tankers) for Norwegian and Singapore owners, BMT said.

BMT to Support for UK MODâs Common Workboats
BMT Group subsidiaries BMT Asset Performance Ltd and BMT Defense Services Ltd will work with Atlas Elektronik UK (AEUK) and its team of suppliers, who announced that it has been awarded a contract valued at £48 million for the supply and support of Common Workboats for the U.K.âs Ministry of Defense (MoD) over a six-year period. Ranging in size from 11 to 18 meters, the multi-role SEA Class vessels share common components and will be modular in design.
BMT Secures New Orleans Passenger Ferry Contract
BMT Group subsidiary BMT Nigel Gee has secured a new contract with sister company BMT Designers & Planners and Louisiana based shipyard Metal Shark for two 32m high speed/low wake wash, 149-passenger aluminum catamaran ferries for the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA). BMT Nigel Gee will be responsible for concept through to production design with BMT Designer & Planners providing local U.S. presence and design engineering support.

BMT Wins Design Contract for Four US Commuter Ferries
BMT Nigel Gee (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group, has announced its latest contract in partnership with sister company BMT Designers & Planners, for four 26.3m catamaran passenger ferries, destined for operation with Potomac Riverboat Company. BMT has worked extensively with Potomac Riverboat Company to develop the concept for the new vessel and continues to support the project with production engineering to the selected builder.
