New Kitsap Transit Ferry Completes Sea Trials
A new BMT design 140-ft. catamaran passenger ferry has reportedly passed its sea trial and is due to enter the Kitsap Transit fleet in the next few weeks. Dubbed Enetai, the boat was built by Nichols Brothers Boat Builders (NBBB) in Seattle, with a sister vessel, Commander, due to be launched later in 2021.The ferry is designed to carry 255 passengers on a single deck, with space for up to 26 bicycles.

BMT Signs 43m Ferry Contract for Kitsap
BMT has announced the signing of a contract for two new 43 meter (104’ x 37’’ x 12.5’) high-speed, passenger Fast Ferries for Kitsap Transit, with an option for a third to be added to this vessel fleet. BMT said on Thursday it has been awarded a contract to design two crew transfer vessels (CTVs) to be deployed for Windserve Marine to service Ørsted’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project in the US.BMT has designed the new 20-meter CTV specifically for East Coast conditions with maneuverability, performance and redundancy in mind while reaching a top speed in the region of 28 knots.
