McAllister Chooses Markey Winches for Newest ASD Tug
McAllister Towing recently ordered a Markey Machine winch and capstan for the fourth ASD tug of a class-build series being constructed at Washburn & Doughty Associates.Markey is providing a DEPCF-52-75 Class II bow hawser winch, which includes the Markey Render/Recoverâ system, a line-display screen and a stainless-steel brake drum. A two-speed CEW-60 electric capstan is also included.âMarkey is consistently reliable, a great vendor to work with, and steady.

McAllister Towing announced on Thursday it has signed a contract for the construction of two new tugs to be built at Washburn & Doughty Associates (W&D) in East Boothbay, Maine, with an option for two additional vessels.The 93- by 38-foot tractor tugs will each offer 84 metric tons bollard pull, further enhancing McAllisterâs East Coast fleet with the ability to service its customers largest ships and bring McAllisterâs tractor fleet to 39 tugs with a total of over 182âŚ
