Bangladesh launches new tender for rice purchase of 50,000 tonnes, traders claim

The state grain buyer of Bangladesh has announced a new international bid to buy 50,000 metric tonnes of rice. The deadline to submit price offers is March 11, 2019. After a heavily damaged domestic crop last year, Bangladesh continues to purchase large quantities of rice on international markets.

The leading South Korean animal feed manufacturer Nonghyup Feed Inc., (NOFI), purchased around 60,000 tons of soymeal in a private transaction on Friday. This deal was made without announcing an international tender. The estimated price was $364.66 per ton, cost and freight included.
