Catamaran Ferry Delivered to Hyline Cruises
Incat Crowther has announced the launch of Grey Lady IV, the fourth catamaran ferry designed by Incat Crowther and built by Gladding Hearn for Hyline Cruises of Hyannis, Massachusetts. The new vessel was commissioned in response to increased ridership and a passenger preference for a fast service with better amenity, and is an evolutionary step from the three previous vessels from the designer / builder collaboration.
Ocean Endeavor Repair Completed
Harris Pye Engineering Group completed repair works during the two-stage multi-million dollar Diamond Offshore demobilization project for its semi-sub rig Ocean Endeavor from the Black Sea, which completed its contract in January 2016. The initial phase of the repair work, which started in December 2015, while the rig was offshore Constanta, Romania involved cleaning of mud, brine, base oil and skimmer tanks. Steel repairs were carried out on a main column blister.
$100M Tug Contract: Fourth Boat Delivered in South Africa
Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) is on track with its $100m tug building contract and celebrated the ceremonial launch of the fourth of its nine new tugs being built in Durban. The tug – named OSPREY in honor of the fish eagle – will serve at the Port of Saldanha. In line with maritime tradition, the duty of officially naming the vessel was carried out by Lady Sponsor, Thandeka Mabija, who earlier this month was appointed General Manager for Human Resources at TNPA.
