Royal IHC Signs Contract with Shanghai Salvage
Royal IHC has announced they have signed a contract with Shanghai Salvage in China for the supply of an integrated 550t Reel lay system. This will be the first Reel lay system in the Chinese market and will be one of the largest and most sophisticated Reel lay systems worldwide. The pipelay system, which includes not only rigid pipe but also flexible pipe lay capability, will be installed on the new offshore construction vessel of Shanghai Salvage.
COSCO Europe Reduces Fuel Costs, Emissions with Selected HPS from Jotun
In the four years since its coating with Jotun’s Hull Performance Solutions (HPS) system, COSCO Europe has reached new heights of efficiency, cost control and environmental performance. Figures released by Jotun show that the 2008-built, 10,062 TEU container ship has sliced fuel costs by $4.5million and reduced CO2 emissions by some 29,500 tonnes (against market average figures), giving it market leading hull performance.

Gibdock Welcomes Back Thomson Majesty
A familiar cruise ship visitor has returned to Gibdock, with the Gibraltar yard undertaking exacting repair and renewal work on Thomson Majesty, the Thomson-operated luxury vessel owned by Louis Cruises. The project involved two weeks in Gibdock’s No. 1 dock for the 207m loa (41,000gt) vessel within a fixed schedule, after Thomson Majesty came off her summer port rotations, in preparation for her regular winter cruising duties.
