Yacht Sinks after Crash with a Lobster Boat
A yacht and a commercial fishing vessel collided Tuesday about 10 miles east of Block Island, Rhode Island. No injuries have been reported. The 40-foot lobster boat, Squeeze Play, manned by a two-man crew, was struck by the yacht Lucia, which had four people aboard. The yacht was reported to be sinking after suffering a hole in its bow. MAN Engines for Three New Cruise Ships
MAN Diesel & Turbo said it has won the engine-supply contract from Fincantieri for newbuildings ordered by Costa Asia and P&O Cruises, Australia, members of Carnival Corporation & plc. Each vessel will feature 2 × 14V48/60CR + 3 × 8L48/60CR medium-speed MAN engines, providing 62,400 kW installed power. The engines will be delivered to Fincantieri’s shipyards in Monfalcone (Trieste) and Marghera (Venice) between August 2017 and September 2019.

Merchant vessels sailing through busy shipping lanes between Somalia and Yemen may be underestimating the risk of piracy and terrorism following two attempted attacks last month, maritime officials say.
