Novatek: Shareholders to Decide on $600 Mln Loan for Yamal LNG
Russia's largest non-state gas producer Novatek said on Thursday its shareholders would decide on a new loan worth $600 million for the Yamal LNG project on June 20, according to Interfax news agency. The $27 billion Yamal LNG project envisages three liquefied natural gas (LNG) production lines with a capacity of 5.5 million tonnes a year each. The gas the project produces would be exported to world markets. Novatek has a 50.1 percent stake in what will be only Russia's second LNG plant.
Almi Tankers Inks Maintenance Deal with Alphatron Marine
JRC and Alphatron Marine has announced that Greek based company Almi Tankers have signed an all-encompassing maintenance contract supporting all yearly inspections and surveys as well as any required services, for a total of 11 vessels. Alphatron Marine, together with local partner in Greece, Nova Electronics, will support the Almi Tankers fleet worldwide, including service, upkeep, and preventive maintenance services to secure the overall smooth running of bridge equipment.
Second LNG-powered Cement Carrier Delivered
Dutch shipbuilder Ferus Smit has delivered the second LNG-powered cement carrier, MV Ireland, to owners JT Cement, a joint venture between Swedish shipping company Erik Thun AB and Norway’s KG Jebsen Cement. MV Ireland, along with sister vessel MV Greenland delivered in December 2015, are the first ever dry cargo vessels with an LNG fuelled propulsion system and LNG tanks integrated inside the hull, the builder said.
