Chesapeake Adds Fabrication Building
Chesapeake Shipbuilding Corp. announced that its fifth hull fabrication building is complete in Salisbury, Md. The new building is 160 feet long by 70 feet wide and 70 feet high, and will allow larger hull sections to be construction in an indoor environment at the yard. This building will be complete with advanced climate control and has been fitted with two overhead cranes and state-of-the-art equipment.

DOF Awarded IMR, Subsea Installation Work
DOF and DOF Subsea have been awarded several IMR and subsea installation contracts in the Asia Pacific and Atlantic regions, with a total contract value of approximately NOK 270 million (about $23.8 million USD). The contracts will secure utilization of the subsea project fleet in the regions. In Asia Pacific, OMV New Zealand has awarded DOF Subsea an IMR contract, where the scope of work includes inspection and work on eight mooring lines on the Maari field’s FPSO, Raroa, offshore New Zealand.

BISSO MARINE has acquired offshore pipelay industry's stalwart derrick/pipelay barge GLOBAL IROQUOIS. The 400 foot x 100 foot x 30 foot laybarge has performed pipelay operations worldwide and will be renamed BISSO IROQUOIS. The central part of the barge’s substantial station keeping system are the ten single drum winches with 320 kips of pulling force and 744 kip holding force each. Each single drum winch holds 5,300 feet of 2.5 inch wire rope.

Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven has been awarded a contract to build a fishing vessel to be designed and equipped by Rolls-Royce. The stern trawler has been ordered by French fishing company Compagnie Des Peches Saint-Malo S.A. & SAS Comptoir Des Peches D’Europe Du Nord – Euronor.
