Food Handling Products Ordered for Ovation of the Seas
ALMACO informs it has been contracted to deliver food handling products for the Royal Caribbean International’s Ovation of the Seas, the third Quantum-class ship scheduled for delivery during the second quarter of 2016. The contracts, awarded by Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, comes in addition to 2,050 square meters of Provision Stores that ALMACO delivered for Quantum of the Seas this past October and that is currently installing on board Anthem of the Seas in 2015.
Gulf of Mexico Sees First LNG-powered OSV
A special Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) has been delivered to Shell for its deepwater operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The vessel, Harvey Energy, is chartered from Harvey Gulf International Marine and is the first of its kind in the region to run on both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and diesel. Built by the Gulf Coast Shipyard in Mississippi to meet requirements of the ABS “ENVIRO+, Green Passport” notation, the vessel is 302 feet long and operates on three dual-fuel Wärtsilä engines.
Australia Announces Patrol Boat Tender
The Australian Government announced a Request for Tender (RFT) to replace the Pacific Patrol Boats under the Pacific Maritime Security Program, Project SEA3036 Phase 1. The project involves the construction in Australia of up to 21 steel-hulled replacement patrol vessels, representing an investment in the nation’s defense industry with the Australian-made patrol boats worth $594 million in addition to through life sustainment and personnel costs estimated at $1.38 billion over 30 years.
