Ocean Osprey is Ready to Serve in Norway
Zamakona Yards announced that the newly built vessel Ocean Osprey arrived to Scotland last week to soon begin operating in the Martin Linge offshore oilfields to support the works of Norwegian company Total E & P. Ocean Osprey was launched January 31 at Zamakona’s facility in Pasajes (San Sebastián) and is the first ship ordered by the Norwegian shipping company Atlantic Offshore AS built by Zamakona Yards.

Damen Delivers Shoalbuster to MCS in 8 Days
Maritime Craft Services (MCS) recently took delivery of a new Damen Shoalbuster 2609. Damen has delivered numerous Crew Transfer Vessels, Multicats, and Shoalbusters to MCS – the two companies have a long-standing relationship. What is notable about this latest delivery, however, is the incredibly short timeframe involved. MCS owner Dirk Kuijt and Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld managing director Jos van Woerkum signed the contract on March 12, and just eight days later, MCS took delivery.
Crane Barge Delivered to Stevens Towing
Bos Smith, Vice President, Operations, with Stevens Towing Co., Inc., Yonges Island, S.C., announces the delivery of Ocean Ranger, a 200’ X 72’ X 14’ ABS-classed floating crane barge. Stevens Towing, operating Ocean Ranger under Charleston Heavy Lift, will offer crane services in the Charleston, S.C., to Savannah, Ga., area. The barge was designed by The Shearer Group, Inc., Seabrook, Texas, and built by Metal Trades, Inc., of Yonges Island, S.C.
Objects Spotted in New Flight 370 Search Area
According to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), five aircraft have spotted “multiple objects of various colors” during Friday’s search for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370. Authorities will assess the photographic imagery of the objects overnight. This comes after international air crash investigators in Malaysia provided a credible lead to AMSA, causing Friday’s search area to be shifted north on the advice of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB).

DOF Subsea, provider of integrated subsea solutions, has been awarded a Master Service Agreement (MSA) extension with Seaway Heavy Lifting for the provision of positioning services onboard its Stanislav Yudin and Oleg Strashnov crane vessels. LNG Market Not Impacted by Changed Crimea Status: Analysis
While a threat of a cut in gas supplies could emerge from Russia, Ukraine, or the E.U., the reality is that the commercial situation could use a little less gas in the market and that goes for Europe and Asia. From an LNG perspective, if you are going to have a supply crisis, the second quarter is probably the best time of the year to have it, as Asian gas demand drops to seasonal lows and Europe is showing record amounts of length in its own balances.
China Shipyard Delivers Capesize Bulk Carrier
COSCO Corporation (Singapore) informs that its COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard subsidiary has delivered the 82,000 dwt bulk carrier "UNION VOYAGER", to its European buyer. The new ship measures 229 meters in LOA, 32.26 meters in breadth and is 20.25 meters in depth. Founded in June 2001, COSCO Shipyard Group Co., Ltd, is a subsidiary of China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO). It specializes in large vessel construction, marine engineering, conversion, and ship repair services.
Dubai Water Canal Project Contract for Parsons-Halcrow JV
The Parsons/Halcrow Joint Venture (JV) informs it has been selected by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for the construction supervision of the Dubai Water Canal Project. The JV, whose initial scope of work, awarded in December 2006 was for design, has now been awarded the next phase of the project. The new scope of work includes elevating three major roads in Dubai, relocating utilities, and constructing the 2.8‑km‑long Dubai Water Canal.
