Damen Shipyards Group said it has received an order for a Multi Cat 2712 from Norwegian owner Samba AS based in Os (Bergen). The vessel will be the first newbuild from Damen’s proven range of workboats to operate in Norway’s large aquaculture and oil spot market industry. Living up to Damen’s reputation for fast delivery from stock, Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld in the Netherlands will deliver the vessel in June after completing a number of client-specified customizations.

Vard, Nordic American Offshore Sign LOI for PSV Builds
Vard Holdings Limited announced that it has entered into a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Nordic American Offshore Ltd. for the design and construction of two Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), and an option for a third vessel. The vessels are of VARD 1 08 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway. The hulls of the vessels will be built at Vard Braila in Romania. Delivery is scheduled from Vard Aukra in Norway in 2Q and 3Q 2015.

Topaz Energy and Marine, an offshore support vessel (OSV) company, and marine and fire safety equipment company VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has jointly announced the signing of a multimillion dollar, 10-year life-raft servicing agreement.
