Navigator Enters Long Term Ethane Transport Charter
Navigator Holdings Ltd. announced today that it has signed a long term shipping agreement for one of its 35,000 cubic meter ethylene/ethane capable semi-refrigerated liquefied gas carriers, currently being built at Jiangnan Shipyard, China. The ten year time charter has been agreed with Borealis, a leading provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefins, base chemicals and fertilizers.
Survitec to Exhibit Escape Slides at SMM
Survitec Group announced that it will showcase its SurvitecZodiac range of escape slides and liferafts at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg as part of the Survitec Group Stand (Hall B5, Booth 324) and will include presentations of what the company calls the most advanced escape slide systems on the market. Notable among these is the fully automatic ESS (Escape Slide System) MES escape slide system that can be launched at the touch of a button and made ready for use without any crew involvement.
Diana Containerships to Buy Two Post-Panamax Vessels
Diana Containerships Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of containerships, announced that it has signed, through two separate wholly-owned subsidiaries, two Memoranda of Agreement to purchase from an unaffiliated third party two Post-Panamax container vessels, the m/v YM March and the m/v YM Great. The m/v YM March and the m/v YM Great are both 2004-built vessels of 5,576 TEU capacity. The purchase price for each vessel is $22.175 million.

Lakes Record Best Month for Limestone in Two Years
Shipments of limestone on the Great Lakes totaled 4,090,079 tons in July, the highest total for the trade since July of 2012, the Lake Carriers’ Association said, adding that loadings that month totaled 4,083,753 tons. Loadings out of U.S. quarries totaled 3.5 million tons in July, an increase of 17.7 percent compared to a year ago. Shipments from Canadian quarries totaled 555,000 tons, a slight increase over a year ago.

Lower Chance of El Nino in Autumn
A U.S. weather forecaster decreased its outlook for the El Nino weather phenomenon in its monthly update on Thursday, estimating the chances of the weather pattern occurring during the Northern Hemisphere autumn and early winter at 65 percent. Deltamarin to Outfit First LNG-powered Icebreaker
Deltamarin Ltd. has been awarded a contract by Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. for the entire machinery and technical spaces outfitting production design of the first LNG-powered icebreaker.
