Elco Motor Yachts, a company in electric and hybrid marine propulsion for more than 120 years, is applying its expertise to the electric outboard motor category. The company is launching a new line of 5- and 7-horsepower motors, with an additional model offering 9.9-horsepower later this year. The outboards are designed to meet the growing interest in clean, quiet and fuel-efficient propulsion among both recreational and commercial boaters.
Great North River Tugboat Race and Competition
More than 15 tugboats are expected to participate in the Working Harbor Committee’s annual Great North River Tugboat Race and Competition Sunday, August 31 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The race features nose-to-nose pushing contests and a line-throwing competition by tugboat crew members. Immediately following the water competitions will be a spinach-eating contest and a tattoo competition on Pier 84 in Manhattan.

DBR to Deliver Custom Gas Genset for Platform E17a-A
DBR Generatorsets is on course to complete construction of a gas engine driven generator set for GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland B.V. in time for installation on the E17a-A platform at the end of the year.
