OPIC Awards Ellicott for Dredge Work in Iraq

In a ceremony at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Overseas Private Investment Corporationâs (OPIC) President and Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth L. Littlefield presented Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, LLC and its Ellicott Dredges LLC entity with OPICâs inaugural âImpact Awardâ for Ellicottâs work in Iraq. Ellicott was one of only eight organizations across the country receiving this award from OPIC, the U.S. Governmentâs development finance institution.

The Bayfront Maritime Center (BMC) in Erie, Pa. has procured an upgrade to their existing BCG navigation simulator. Expanding their training system which consists of an instructor station and a one student position with single screen visual, ARPA radar emulator, Virtual Steering Stand and Electronic Chart Display, BMC is adding two additional student training positions. Each of the two new stations will support our PCBME ARPA radar and a Virtual Steering Stand for own ship control.

On Wednesday, March 12, an eight-person delegation of transportation and economic development officials from Lithuania visited the Port of New Orleans to sign a memorandum of understanding to exchange market and operational information. The agreement hopes to grow trade and investment between the Port and Lithuaniaâs Klaipeda Seaport. The group participated in a roundtable discussion regarding trade and transportation issues and toured Port cargo facilities.

Naviera Integral Orders 4 Damen Sea Axe Vessels

Mexican offshore company Naviera Integral and Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract for four more Damen Fast Crew Suppliers 5009 (FCS 5009). The first two vessels will be delivered from stock and will be handed over in Vietnam on April 16th of this year. The other two vessels will start construction soon, with their delivery planned for July 2015. All four vessels will operate in the Gulf of Mexico, under a direct contract from PEMEX, the Mexican state oil company.
