Naviera Integral Orders 4 Damen Sea Axe Vessels
Mexican offshore company Naviera Integral and Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract for four more Damen Fast Crew Suppliers 5009 (FCS 5009). The first two vessels will be delivered from stock and will be handed over in Vietnam on April 16th of this year. The other two vessels will start construction soon, with their delivery planned for July 2015. All four vessels will operate in the Gulf of Mexico, under a direct contract from PEMEX, the Mexican state oil company.

Fugro Upgrades Electric ROV Simulators
Fugro announced it is launching an important upgrade to its Electric ROV pilot training simulators. Most observation-class ROVs and many light work-class ROVs are electrical-based systems. With the introduction of a new electric ROV control pod and suite of electric ROV specific components, Fugro’s DeepWorks simulation software now models all electric sub-systems with greater accuracy and enables failure cases to be simulated on individual sensors and circuits.
Eleven Models Now Available from JCB
Mermaid Marine has increased its range of JCB Dieselmax marine diesel engines. The company, based in Poole, now has eleven models available in the JCB TCAE range ranging from 55kW / 74hp to 120kW / 160hp suitable for a large variety of applications, with the smaller engines particularly suitable for the grant funded repower market. All engines comply with a minimum of Stage 2 emissions with the majority complying with Stage 3B – Tier 4 interim.
