Canada Adopts North American ECA Standards
Canada aligns with USA to reduce harmful air emissions from ships navigating in Canadian waters. The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, has announced that the Government of Canada is adopting stricter environmental standards. Minister Lebel also announced further measures to prevent other ship-source pollution in Canadian waters.

The Port of Houston maintains its position as Brazil's largest U.S. compiled statistics show. From 2010 to 2012, the Port of Houston Authority (PHA) handled a total of 311,314 twenty-foot equivalent units of trade with Brazil. In 2012, PHA's market share was 17 percent of the total trade with Brazil, according to statistics compiled from the Journal of Commerce's PIERS data. Brazil is South America's largest economy and has shown potential forfurther growth.

Blue North has contracted Dakota Creek Industries in Anacortes, Washington, to build an eco-friendly, technologically advanced fishing vessel.
