Intrepid trekkers â Jess Kramer, Sarah Ryan, Nicky Davenport and Sandra Corrigan have just arrived home from a trip of a lifetime. All four Bibby Ship Management (BSM) Isle of Man employees took part in the Bibby Line Group âGiving Something Backâ Dalai Lama Trek in India, in October. The five day trek saw the team reach an altitude of 3,500 meters, camping in some extreme weather, however with such a fantastic support crew keeping the team firmly on the ground the trip was a great success.
USCG Overseas Damaged Vessel Transport in GoM
The Coast Guard and state and local authorities began working to ensure the safe transport of two troubled vessels being towed to a Brownsville scrap yard after one began listing into the other Thursday. At approximately 8 a.m. Thursday, the captain of the tug with the vessels in tow called Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders to request assistance as one of the vessels was listing heavily into the other approximately two miles offshore and South of the Mansfield Jetties.

Ulstein Sells All Six Blue Ship PSVs

Head of ABB Power Systems Leaving
Brice Koch, head of the Power Systems division at ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has decided to leave ABB to become chief executive officer at Oerlikon, based in Pfaeffikon, Switzerland. Koch joined ABB in 1994 and held a number of roles in Switzerland before taking over as global head of the Transformers business unit in 2002. In 2007, he became head of ABB in China and North Asia, and joined the Executive Committee in 2010 as head of Marketing and Customer Solutions.
Canadian Coast Guard Accepts New Hero-class Cutter
âOur Government is proud to accept the CCGS Corporal McLaren M.M.V. into the Canadian Coast Guard fleet,â said Minister Shea. The CCGS Corporal McLaren M.M.V. is a Mid-Shore Patrol Vessel that will be based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It was built in Halifax, Nova Scotia, by Irving Shipbuilding Inc. A formal naming and dedication ceremony will follow. The Hero Class vessels are 43 metres in length with a displacement of 257 tonnes and a top speed of 25 knots.

The Danish company Bawat A / S has developed an in- tank system to treat ballast water on ships where the treatment is conducted while the ship is under way, unlike the existing in-line systems where processing is carried out when the ship is in port.
