Harkand Ramps up Activity in Asia Pacific
Harkand has increased its presence in the burgeoning Asia Pacific region by securing a clutch of multimillion dollar contracts for execution in 2013/14. Under a deal with PTSC Offshore Services, the ROV support vessel Harkand Harmony has been deployed on its first charter since joining the fleet in August and is carrying out flexible lay operations in the Ruby Field, offshore Vietnam, with the charter expected complete in late November.
EnerMech Sets $452 Million 2014 Sales Target
Oil and gas services group EnerMech Ltd. has predicted 2014 turnover will increase to more than £280 million ($452m), a jump of £80 million ($129m) on the current year’s forecast and double the £144 million ($232m) revenue recorded in its 2012 annual accounts. The Aberdeen-based company’s 2012 group accounts showed an £11 million ($17.7m) profit (EBITDA) on revenue which grew 41% from £102 million ($165m), and it expects 2013 EBITDA to break the £20 million ($32m) barrier.
ISS Wins EUKOR Global Service Award
Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), a maritime services provider, has received a global award for best agency from EUKOR, a shipping company specializing in car transportation and other rolling cargo. The award for ‘Best in Vessel Operation’ to ISS Philadelphia followed a full supplier evaluation and was awarded for its quality of port captain service, operations, logistics and outstanding contribution to EUKOR. ISS provides agency services for EUKOR across the U.S. Gulf, East Coast and Canada.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery & Engine Co., Ltd. (MHI-MME), a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), has received orders from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. GL RC Certifies CG Transformer
Transformer manufacturer CG has received certification from GL Renewables Certification (GL RC) for its liquid immersed SLIM and “Bio-SLIM distribution transformer.” The hermetically sealed transformer is also available with a bio-degradable transformer fluid which reduces the risk of pollution at environmentally sensitive locations, such as offshore. The certification was carried out according to GL’s Guideline for the Certification of Offshore Wind Turbines, Edition 2012.
China PLA Hospital Ship Sails for Philippines Disaster Support
The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy's hospital ship, the 'Peace Ark', has set sail for a typhoon relief mission to the Philippines, reports Xinhua.
