Latest Ocean-going Shipbuilding Orders

A relatively quiet week in the shipbuilding sector according to the latest report Clarkson Hellas S&P Weekly Bulletin.

Dry Bulk Carriers
Henghou Industries have contracted two further vessels in a series of 250,000 dwt ore carriers at Guangzhou Longxue. Pricing remains undisclosed, however delivery of these latest vessels is planned for 2016 and takes the total series to four firm.

Knightsbridge Tankers are reported to have placed an order for two firm 180,000 dwt Capesize at Daehan Shipbuilding, with delivery of both vessels planned for 2015. In the smaller sizes, it is understood by Clarkson that Shih Wei Navigation have contracted a single 60,000 dwt Supramax bulk carrier at Onomichi in Japan. Delivery is planned for mid-2016 with pricing in the region USD 29 Mill.

Tankship
Limited ordering is reported by Clarkson Hellas in the tanker market this week, with a single contract for one firm plus one option 50,000 dwt Jones Act Product Tankers from Seabulk International at General Dynamics NASSCO. The vessels will be built ready for conversion to using LNG as a fuel, with the first due to deliver at the very end of 2016 and second vessel in 2017.

Gas Carriers
In the gas market, BW Gas have declared options for the fifth and sixth in a series of 84,000 CBM LPG carriers at HHI, with delivery of both vessels understood to be for mid-2016.

Container Ships
Cape Shipping have contracted two firm 6,900 TEU container carriers at Hanjin Subic, with delivery of the first vessel in mid-2015.

PCTC's
Hoegh Autoliners have declared further options for 8,500 unit PCTC's at Xiamen. These latest orders take the series to six firm vessels with delivery planned for the first quarter of 2016.
