Hydrex Performs Underwater Stern Tube Seal Repairs in US and Panama
Recently Hydrex diver/technician teams carried out two underwater stern tube seal repairs: one on a 143-meter general cargo ship in Galveston, Texas, and one on a 292-meter container vessel in Panama. Both vessels were experiencing oil leaks and a fast repair was required by the classification societies. Using the company’s flexible mobdocks, Hydrex teams were able to perform both operations on-site and underwater. This saved time and money for both owners.

Rolls-Royce Delivers Waterjets for US Navy LCS
Rolls-Royce delivered the Axial Mk1 waterjet for the latest Freedom-variant of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class, currently under construction for the U.S. Navy. Toyota Export Venza via Port of Brunswick
The Toyota Venza, built in Georgetown, Ky., will be exported to Russia and Ukraine via the Port of Brunswick, Ga. The Georgia Ports Authority will move approximately 5,000 vehicles for Toyota per year. Toyota announced it will begin exporting U.S.-assembled Venza crossover vehicles to Russia and Ukraine via the Port of Brunswick, Ga. Colonel’s Island Terminal at the Port of Brunswick handled a record 612,489 auto and machinery units in CY2012, up from 497,404 in the previous year.

Fergus Ewing, the Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism opened a new learning center this week which makes practical, classroom and eLearning training available to the regions North Sea oil and gas industry for the first time. Recently developed commercial tidal models for the Singapore and Malacca Straits have been released in an exclusive online viewer. Developed by applied oceanography specialist Tidetech, the online viewer – OceanView – is an entry-level version of the company’s tidal models, viewable on any internet browser and on internet capable mobile devices.
