UTEC Opens New Premises in Naples, Italy
In opening a second new office and workshop facility in six months, UTEC has underlined its commitment to both the Mediterranean and African markets by relocating to a purpose built-facility in Naples, Italy. Continued sustained growth in operations, including two large geophysical and geotechnical projects in West Africa and Saudi Arabia, has led the company to move to larger premises in Pozzuoli, Naples.
Long Island Coast Guard Receive New Boat
Coast Guard Station Eaton’s Neck, N.Y., receive a new 45-foot Response Boat-Medium (RB-M) rescue boat. The new boat, a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium (RB-M), was issued to replace one of two aging 41-foot utility boats at the station. The RB-M is an aluminum, self-righting, high-speed, multi-mission capable boat, able to respond rapidly to Coast Guard missions, or conduct planned patrols and training. The primary roles of the RB-M are search and rescue and maritime law enforcement.

The Multi-Mission Combatant is an agile, modular vessel capable of speeds in excess of 40 knots.
Rolls-Royce to Design, Power, Brazilian OSV's
Rolls-Royce wins a £24 million order to design & equip four platform supply vessels (PSVs) for Brazilian ship owner Bravante Group. The UT 775 SE PSVs are designed to carry deck cargo, pipes and diesel oil to and from offshore oil and gas platforms. They will be chartered by Petrobras. Bravante Group will build the vessels at their ship yard in Niteroi, Brazil, as they have done for previous orders.

OceanWorks International contracted to deliver additional seafloor nodes for CSnet International’s Offshore Communications Backbone (OCB). The OCB (Offshore Communications Backbone) subsea infrastructure, including five seafloor nodes which form the existing seafloor observatory portion of the system, was originally designed by OceanWorks International and delivered to Harris Caprock Communications (HCC) .
