José Viegas, a Portuguese national, has taken office as Secretary-General of the International Transport Forum. The International Transport Forum at the OECD is an intergovernmental organisation with 54 member countries that acts as a strategic think tank for global transport policy and organises an annual summit of transport ministers.

China for the construction of five new RoRo/Container (CONRO) vessels. The vessels will be the world’s largest and most innovative CONRO vessels ever built.

Wärtsilä to Power Four Svitzer Tugboats
Wärtsilä contracted to supply power systems of four modern diesel-electric tugs building for Australian owner Svitzer. The vessels are being built at the ASL shipyard in Singapore and are scheduled to be in operation by early 2014. Each of the four 80 Ton Bollard Pull (TBP) harbour tugs will be fitted with two 9-cylinder and one 8-cylinder in-line Wärtsilä 20 engines. The use of the Wärtsilä 20 engines as diesel-electric generating sets is a new development in the tugs market.
