Fishery Inspection Surveillance Vessel for Angola launched at Damen Shipyards Galati. Damen Shipyards Galati is building the Ngola Kiluange, a Fishery Inspection Surveillance Vessel (FISV) 6210, for the Angolan Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries. With another two ships under construction, the Angolan government is set to strengthen its knowledge of and control over its rich fishing grounds.

Moose Boats Announces Fire Boat Contract Award from West Pierce Fire and Rescue. Moose Boats, a boat designer and manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area, has been awarded a new contract from West Pierce Fire and Rescue in University Place, WA for the construction of a M2-37 Catamaran Fire Rescue Boat. The M2-37 is a 37’-0” aluminum catamaran powered by newly introduced twin Cummins 6.7ltr 425hp turbo diesels and is propelled by Hamilton 292 water jets.

With the deal officially closed on January 31, 2012, the sale of the civilian Blohm + Voss companies – Blohm + Voss Industries, Blohm + Voss Repair and Blohm + Voss Shipyards (plus their subsidiaries) – to the UK investment company Star Capital Partners (SCP) is now complete. The purchase agreement between ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems AG and SCP for the acquisition of these companies was finalized on December 11, 2011.

The Björk.Eklund Group is changing its name to Greencarrier AB with effect from February 1, 2012. Previously the Greencarrier name had only been used by companies that formed part of Greencarrier Freight Services, the division of the Björk.Eklund Group offering customised logistics and transport solutions worldwide.
