Incat Crowther Redefines Wind Farm Service Craft
Incat Crowther announced the launch of the 57.4-ft catamaran, Santa Ana, and the completion of extensive sea trials. The Santa Ana is specificaly designed for the wind farm service industry. Built by Lyme Boats in the UK, Santa Ana features Incat Crowther’s hull form. Operator P&O Maritime Services saw the platform’s potential for wind farm service and worked with Lyme Boats and Incat Crowther to develop the vessel’s design.
Port of Indiana Welcomes First Ship of The Season
PORTAGE, Ind. – The Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor welcomes the first ship of the 2011 international shipping season with a ceremony on Tuesday, March 29, at noon, local time. A small group of invited guests and media will board the M/V Avonborg for a brief ceremony and a presentation of gifts to the ship’s captain. The Avonborg was the first ship through the St. Lambert lock in Québec, Canada, as the St. Lawrence Seaway opened its 53rd shipping season on March 22.

Statoil Completes Well In Egypt
The Kiwi well in the Egypt’s El Dabaa Licence (Block 9) was completed this week and the Discoverer Americas drillship will soon head back to the US Gulf of Mexico. The exploration well targeted the Kiwi prospect in the El Dabaa licence, located in the Mediterranean west of the Nile Delta, with a water depth of around 2,700 metres at the drill site. Extensive logging has been performed in the well, and preliminary results show that the well is dry.
Navy Names Austal’s Next Two Littoral Combat Ships
