Zentech Acquires Derrick Barge 23, Renamed ZEE RIG 3
Zentech, Inc. has acquired the former Derrick Barge 23 and renamed it ZEE RIG 3. āWe intend to upgrade the vessel in two phases, first for use as a crane barge with increased lifting capacity, and later as a much larger self-propelled jackup vessel for wind farm installation service,ā said Zentech President Ramesh Maini. The vessel is being prepared for conversion work at a Gulf Coast shipyard. The vessel was purchased from Bohen Crane and Equipment Repair LLC.

Cargotec Wins U.S. Port Automation Contract
Cargotec has won a contract to supply ten state-of-the-art Kalmar automatic stacking cranes and 17 customer specific automatic shuttle carriers to leading terminal services' provider TraPac Inc, in Los Angeles, USA. The equipment will be delivered to TraPac Inc, a subsidiary of Mitsui OSK Lines, in 2012 and 2013. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order. MetalCraft Unveils First Electric Powered Patrol Boat
Patrol Boat-1 is really the first, the first ever electric powered patrol boat. MetalCraft Marine designed and built the boat for the City of Annapolisā Harbormaster. The boat utilizes a Steyr hybrid diesel/electric engine that permits either electric power or for higher speeds, diesel power. The propulsion is a Hamilton 274 waterjet.
