Columbia Class Tug for Shaver Transportation
Capilano Maritime Design Ltd. has recently completed the design of an 80āfoot Columbia Class ASD ShipāDocking Tug for Shaver Transportation Company of Portland, Oregon. The tug is currently being built by Diversified Marine Inc., also of Portland, and will be the most powerful in Shaverās fleet when delivered in 2011. The Columbia Class is a new series of tug designs by Capilano Maritime Design Ltd.

Donjon Shipbuilding Floats Tugboat in Presque Isle Bay
As part of the ongoing construction process, on December 22, 2010, Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair, floated the 135-foot-long, 10,500-horsepower tugboat Ken Boothe Sr. in Presque Isle Bay. The vessel was moved from Donjon Shipbuildingās 1250-foot graving dock to a wet berth within the facility where final construction and outfitting of the vessel will be completed in mid-February 2011. MV EMS River Pirated in Indian Ocean
In the early hours of 27 December, the MV EMS River was pirated approximately 175 nautical miles North East of the port of Salalah, Oman. The 5,200 tonne general cargo ship, which is Antigua/Barbuda flagged and German owned, was on her way to San Nicolas, Greece from Jebel Ali in the UAE at the time of the attack. She has a crew of 8 (1 Romanian, 7 Philipinos) and is carrying a cargo of Petroleum Coke.
