MOL Helps Typhoon Victims in Luzon
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. President Akimitsu Ashida announced a donation of $40,000 to relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Ketsana that struck the Philippines at the end of September. The company expressed its heartfelt sympathy for the disaster victims, and said it hopes they can return to normal life as soon as possible. Italian Navy, More Subs with Siemens Fuel Cells
For the Italian navy, the Siemens Industry Solutions Division is equipping two new submarines of the U212A type with fuel cell modules for air-independent propulsion. The systems are ordered by Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH (HDW). Delivery of the two submarines to the Italian navy is planned for 2015 and 2016. This will increase to 30 the number of submarines plying the seas worldwide with a Siemens fuel cell technology. The order has a volume of around $42.6m.
ITS $55M Investment from Lime Rock
ITS Group, a specialist provider of oilfield equipment and services to the global oil and gas industry, announced a $55m equity investment from leading energy-focused private equity firm Lime Rock Partners. The agreement provides Lime Rock with a minority stake in ITS Group in return for providing growth capital to be used to support the company’s growth aspirations as it aims to become a major global player in the oilfield drilling sector.
