At the touch of a button, the new, lightweight TECH-1000-2 automated hydraulic davit from Nautical Structures can handle a working load up to 1,000 pounds in all boom positions aboard boats and yachts from 40 to 140 feet. Weighing 165 pounds, the all-aluminum TECH-1000-2 is priced at just under $10,000, complete with mounting standpipe and hydraulic power unit. The TECH-1000-2 features a fully faired and painted finish to match the paint color of the yacht.
Wärtsilä Receives 1st CWA Design Order
Wärtsilä, power system integrator, has signed a design and propulsion system order with Taiwan's Jong Shyn Shipbuilding for a product chemical tanker. The 6500 dwt vessel, due for delivery in 2011, is for CPC Corporation (CPC), a Taiwanese state-owned oil company. This is the first order through the Wärtsilä network for a design developed by Conan Wu Associates (CWA), a Wärtsilä Ship Design company, since it was acquired in September 2008.
