FIND YOUR PATH

Posted to Maritime Reporter TV ( by Mark Fuhrmann ) on September 12, 2022

Fear is present every day. We can conquer fear by developing skillsets that enable us to move forward. Paddling 10,500 km is a major endeavor and I had to overcome several fears to move forward.

IS THE WORST OVER?

Can you handle what life throws at you? Add a bit of crazy nature challenges and the weeks can get mentally and physically exhausting. Regardless, I am learning each day, always looking forward to what's ahead and letting yesterday become history and memory.

WIRED FOR CONNECTION

Posted to Maritime Reporter TV ( by Mark Fuhrmann ) on August 11, 2022

I thought LONG DISTANCE paddling was all about nature, weather and safety. Well I was wrong. The biggest factor is people. They are the best and worst. I understand MORE fully that mankind is WIRED FOR CONNECTION.

THE BIG MISTAKE

Posted to Maritime Reporter TV ( by Mark Fuhrmann ) on August 3, 2022

No matter how much you plan, in life or in kayaking, the unexpected will happen, altering your course, your expectations and your final destination. Nature tells us that "change" will happen. Never think that life will be a easy journey. But, along the way, you will get encouragement from those who understand that 'together we are better.'

PADDLING THE WALL OF DEATH

Posted to Maritime Reporter TV ( by Mark Fuhrmann ) on July 27, 2022

Highway 132 from Le Bic to Riviere au Renard is a stunning, scenic coastal route for the kayaker and the RV driver. Behind the beauty lies hidden danger that, for kayakers, can only be avoided by planning for that window of opportunity to get you safely from point A to B. If you are unprepared, you will get trapped only to suffer a cruel blow from a merciless sea.

Kayaking the Gaspé Peninsula has been an amazing experience. With over 1215 km behind me from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the journey to here, Grande-Vallée, has been adventurous, challenging and rewarding. Lots of great pictures to take home.

IF IT SCARES YOU.... it might be a good thing to try

Going beyond our limits is not a bad thing. Calculating risk is necessary to achieve goals that are before you. Kayaking 10,500 km requires determination, duress and desire to meet the daily goal....regardless of the impossibilities.

NOVA SCOTIA: Unexpected Experiences

The last leg of Northshore, Nova Scotia had some amazing experiences. What a beautiful shoreline and people along the way. No bears on the beach when camping.....

SHELL YEAH!

Posted to Maritime Reporter TV ( by Mark Fuhrmann ) on June 23, 2022

Paddling along the east coast of Nova Scotia - rugged, refreshing, rejuvenating and relentless pain in the butt.....literally. But, (excuse the pun) Mark wouldn't want to live without the good experiences of the past few days.
