ZF Marine: New Transmissions, New CEO

Marine propulsion system technology providers ZF Marine says it expanded its portfolio of transmissions for the commercial craft segment when two hybrid-ready systems were launched at the recent SMM show in Hamburg. Daniel Härter has also taken charge as CEO of ZF Marine Propulsion Systems. Details as follows:

1.    ZF Marine Propulsion Systems' new generation transmission family ZF W10000 for workboats
ZF Marine is strengthening its range of workboat transmissions with the brand new ZF W10000 family, designed mainly for the offshore and tugboat market. Highlights of the new launch include:

  • Increased power density with new compact design
  • Responding to customer demand for deeper ratios, ZF W10000 is available with ratios from 2.0:1 up to 7.9:1
  • Available in three versions: reversing, non-reversing and hybrid-ready (PTI)
  • ZF W10000 marks the launch of the ToughGear brand from ZF Marine that is designed for the most rigorous duty cycles in the most challenging environments
     

2.    ZF Marine Propulsion Systems extends range of hybrid-ready transmissions with ZF 3300 PTI
Bringing the latest in hybrid-ready propulsion technology, the new ZF 3300 PTI is suitable for all types of high speed pleasure and commercial applications. Key highlights of the ZF 3300 PTI include:

  • Newest generation shift technology that increases onboard comfort with reduced feel of the actual gear engagement
  • Designed with the flexibility to be integrated into a wide variety of hybrid vessel propulsion solutions

3.    New CEO for ZF Marine Propulsion Systems
Mr. Daniel Härter assumes the responsibility as CEO of ZF Marine Propulsion Systems. Mr. Härter comes from ZF’s Industrial Technology Division in Passau, Germany, where he previously held the position of Vice President Materials Management. He has been with the ZF group since 2013. He takes over from Mr. Matthias Benz who has been promoted to Head of Corporate Key Account Management at the global ZF Group level.
